The Horseshoes pub in Silk Willoughby is around 2 miles from the market town of Sleaford in the North Kesteven area of Lincolnshire. We are close to the Lincolnshire fens with their big skies but also not too far from the city of Lincoln and the coast is also nearby.

Tattershall Castle

Less than 30 minutes by car is all it takes to reach this 15th century red brick castle. Tattershall Castle is owned and run by The National Trust and a climb to the top of the tower to take in the breath-taking views is a must.

Cogglesford Mill

A picturesque setting and nearby parking mean a walk by the River Slea to this working water mill will be enjoyable. Special events are held throughout the year and stone ground flour can be bought in the mill shop.

Belton House

Another National Trust property, Belton House lies 12 miles from Silk Willoughby. The grounds of this country house feature formal gardens and an ancient deer park which make for a lovely walk. Families with children are able to enjoy the National Trust’s largest outdoor adventure playground.
