Hello Everybody,
As always we begin with this month’s weather review. It’s been very dry, very hot, very clammy…. we need some rain!

July Quizzes were a great success with 125 quizzers attending, which raised a total of £371. This has been sent and received by the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, thank you to everyone who took part! We especially wanted to say a huge thank you to Team CMJ, who won the 1-2-1 question on the second quiz, worth £120. In an incredibly generous gesture, they donated the entire prize money back to the charity.

The first quiz was held on Tuesday 21st July, we had 55 players forming 12 teams. Congratulations to Sheldrake Arms for winning with an impressive 128 points, well done to them! The 1-2-1 question contestant selected the topic ‘Quotes’ with the questions being “Who said, ‘They can have any colour they like as long as it is black?’ Who said this and what was he referring to?” The correct answer was Henry Ford, who was referring to the Model T Ford, the world’s first mass-produced car. The contestant answered correctly and therefore won £120, well done to them!

Our second quiz took place on Tuesday 28th July, with 70 players forming 15 teams. Congratulations to The Soloists for winning with an impressive 140 points, well done to them! The 1-2-1 question contestant selected the topic ‘60’s pop’ with the question being ‘Who was the lead singer of The Troggs?’ The correct answer being Reg Pressley. As mentioned earlier the contestant answered correctly and gave the money back to the charity, well done and thank you to them!

Our next quizzes will take place on Tuesday 18th August and Tuesday 25th August, both starting at 7:45pm, with the chance of winning £100 with the 1-2-1 question! We offer Quiz Basket Meals at £7.50, served from 5:45pm. We are already taking bookings! Bookings:
It may seem early but we are already receiving and taking bookings for Christmas Parties! We will be running our festive Christmas menu every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from the week beginning 3rd December through to 19th December, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm, this menu is evenings only. If you are planning Christmas parties, family meals or a festive celebration, please get in touch to secure your table.

Beer Garden:
Our fantastic outdoor area is providing a massive benefit, especially in this spell of very hot weather.

There’s nothing better than enjoying a refreshing drink, good company, and the sunshine in our lovely beer garden. Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed afternoon, an evening catch-up with friends or simply looking for somewhere to sit back and enjoy the summer weather, our outdoor space is ready and waiting for you.
We are researching how we can make our beer garden more suitable in the winter weather, if this is outdoor heating or weather protection. We would love to make sure our outdoor space can be enjoyed all year round.

Beers:
At the bar, you’ll find our usual range of beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks. Our regular beers now include: Carling, Stella, Thatcher’s, Guinness, Birra Moretti, Doombar, Timothy Taylor, Batemans XXXB and Thatcher’s Fusion- Cloudy Lemonade, Blood Orange, Apple and Blackcurrant.

Goodbye:
This month, we have sadly said goodbye to some of our lovely team members: Ryan, Rhianna and Grace.
We would like to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and commitment during their time with us. They have been a real credit to The Horseshoes team and we truly appreciate everything they have done.
