A note from the Landlord…

Hello everyone. Sadly we find ourselves in a further lockdown until 2nd December 2020. We are promised that this lockdown state will not be extended beyond that date. Let us hope that this is correct.

Interestingly, the furlough scheme has been extended till the end of March 2021. That is for businesses that have to remain closed beyond 2nd December. Let us hope that is to cover areas that are in Tier 3 and may well be kept in lockdown. Whatever, we are still able to discuss the matter whereas thousands of people have very sadly lost their lives.

Because we are a Tier 1 area we feel we can be optimistic about the 3rd December opening date. We are not serving Christmas Day Lunch this year but the bar will be open 11.30am to 3pm. I would advise that if you plan to come along you please book a table for a maximum of 6 people. We can also use the restaurant area if required. The November quiz is, of course, cancelled. We hope to have a grand Family Quiz on Tuesday 29th December, starting at 7pm. Unfortunately we are not able to serve quiz meals.

If you have a meal booked for during the lockdown period and wish to book a new date please call the pub.

We were hoping to repeat the Christmas Carols in The Horseshoes again this year but that is very unlikely to happen. Likewise, on New Year’s Eve we have entertainment booked but if we have to close at 10pm that, I’m afraid, will also not happen.

All being well we’ll be opening Thursday 3rd December at 5pm with our kitchen reopening as usual at 12pm on Friday 4th December. I will post another Landlord’s note either very late in November or early December with any updates.

Finally, all at The Horseshoes thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you some time in the near future.

Kindest Regards,
Paul Steer, Landlord
