Hello Everybody,

As always we begin with this month’s weather report. What a month February has been; rain for much of the time and we’re all thinking when will this end? And then ending the month with some glorious sunshine!

The February quizzes were a great success with 95 people attending in total and with your help we raised a grand total of £200 which has been sent to and received by the Lincolnshire and Notts Air Ambulance. Plus a further £123.78 in the bar collection box. The grand total to date that the quizzes and collection boxes have raised is £19,006.65.

So a big thank you to everyone who have taken part or contributed.

This month we were missing several teams due to ill health.

The Horseshoes manager, Louise, did the first round of questions on both quizzes, so well done Louise.

The first quiz on the 17-02-2026 was won by Team Belton with 118 points, well done to them. The 1-2-1 question was; “In the House of Commons which MP is entitled to be called ‘The Father of the House’?” The answer is the MP with the longest unbroken service. This was a Pot Luck question and the contestant won £120 having answered the question correctly.

The second quiz of the month was won by Don’t Change your Mind with 115 point so once again well done to them. The 1-2-1 question was “ Who said father I cannot tell a lie” the answer being George Washington (who became the first president of the United States of America). This was also a Pot Luck question and the contestant won £120 having answered the question correctly.

Thank you to the team Universally Challenged who donated their prize back to the charity. Our next quizzes will take place on Tuesday 24th and 31st March both starting at 7:45pm with a chance of winning £100 on the reset 1-2-1 questions. Extension to the Garden Area
This project is now entering its final stage of development. We hope all the seating will be in place by the end of March and all the new planters likewise so as it can start to be used early April.

Drinks
At the bar you will find our usual range of beers and wines plus a whole range of non-alcoholic drinks. As previously mentioned, there has been no alteration on our food or drink prices until early April until we see the outcome of the business rates review. Like every other business, we can only hope for the best.
