Hello Everybody!
As always we begin with this month’s weather review. Conditions have been very typical for this time of the year, with plenty of rain, a touch of snow and some very cold weather!
January quizzes were a great success with 100 people attending in total and with your help we raised a grand total of £225 which has been sent to and received by the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
The first quiz on 20th January was won by The Neighbours with 118 points. Well done to them! The 1-2-1 question contestant chose the topic of 60’s Pop Music with the chance of winning £100. The question was “What were the surnames of the singing duo Peter and Gordon?” The answer was Peter Asher and Gordon Waller but unfortunately the contestant answered incorrectly.
On Tuesday 27th January the second quiz took place, the winners were Bubblehead and Skimmer with 121 points, they kindly donated their £25 voucher to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, thank you very much and congratulations on winning! The 1-2-1 question contestant chose the topic of Quotations and the question was “Which actress said the quote- I used to be Snow White but then I drifted?” the answer was Mae West but unfortunately the contestant answered incorrectly.
Our next quizzes will take place on Tuesday 17th February and Tuesday 24th February, both starting at 7:45pm, with the chance of winning £120 with the 1-2-1 question! We offer Quiz Basket Meals at £7.50, served from 5:45pm. We are already taking bookings! Valentine’s Evening
Our next big event is our Valentine’s Evening! Whether you are celebrating with a partner, someone special or your friends we are offering a romantic evening filled with great food, great drinks and even better company. We will be offering a special Valentine’s menu with the option of a three-course meal, including a complimentary glass of Prosecco or Nosecco on arrival. Bookings and pre-orders are required. Extension of The Garden Area
As you may have noticed from our ongoing work, our recreational area is coming along very well and we’re extremely pleased with the progress. We hope the garden area will be completed by early to mid-March, weather permitting.
At the bar, you’ll find our usual range of beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks. We are currently on our final barrel of Batemans Rosey Nosey, then we will be returning to Batemans 5G.
Our regular beers include: Carling, Stella, Thatcher’s, Guinness, Birra Moretti, Doom Bar, Timothy Taylor’s and Alpacalypse.
We are pleased to say January has been a great month for the Horseshoes Public House, thank you to everyone for the support over January. Once again we wish everybody a happy and peaceful 2026.
