A note from the landlord…
Hello Everybody,
We seem to be going from a very short summer into a very long autumn and Christmas is only 114 days away.
You may have seen that we have had to reduce the days on which we serve food due to a shortage of staff in the kitchen. We are now in the process of recruiting more staff so we can expand our cooking hours back to Wednesday to Sunday. For the time being we will be serving food Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We will, of course, update Facebook and the website as soon we can extend the hours.
The August quiz was a huge success with 57 quizzers taking part which raised £114 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance which they have now received. Unfortunately we were unable to hold our usual music round due to technical difficulties but it will return in September. We did hold the very popular “Missing Lyrics” round which was based on Rod Stewart’s ‘We are Sailing’ and everyone enjoyed singing along with the answers.
The 1-2-1 question topic chosen by the contestant was Sixties Pop and the question was “Who was the lead singer of the pop group The Troggs” The answer is Reg Presley which unfortunately was answered incorrectly and so the 1-2-1 question in September will be worth £80.
Our next quiz will be held on Tuesday 28th September, starting at 8pm. Please call as soon as you can to book a table for your team. As always, if you book and then find closer to the date that you can’t attend then please do let us know as our monthly quiz is very popular and we hate to turn people away.
We are introducing a Bar Snack menu starting Thursday 9th September and also a Pie & Pint night starting later this month. You’ll find full details of these on our website, Facebook page and in the pub.
