Hello Everybody
Here we are on 1st November with just a little less than 8 weeks till Christmas. The weather is still being very kind to us with quite mild conditions for the time of the year which is helping us all save on energy bills which is an enormous help with things being as they are.
The October quiz was attended by 54 players and so £108 has been sent and received by the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
The 1-2-1 question had a prize of £160 and the contestant chose to answer a question on 60s Pop. The question was “Which artist or artistes made the record The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt?” The answer was The Shadows but unfortunately the contestant gave an incorrect answer and so November’s 1-2-1 prize is up to the quite magnificent sum of £180!
The next quiz is on Tuesday 29th November starting at 8pm. Quiz meals will be served from 6 to 7.45pm. The basket meals will be £6.50 and there will be a choice of Scampi, Chicken Bites or Mozzarella Sticks all served with chips. As usual please book your team tables and let us know if you can’t make it closer to the date. Thank you.
The new menu was launched on 5th October with the Senior Specials going down particularly well. Our first Sunday Lunch on 30th October was extremely popular with 37 people dining with us. The next Sunday Lunch is on November 13th 12-4pm and you’ll be able to choose from Roast Beef at £13.95 or Roast Chicken or the Spinach, Mushroom and Brie Parcel both at £12.95 There will be a starter and dessert option available. Booking is recommended because of how popular it was last time.
We still have Batemans YellaBelly and Batemans XXXB as our guest beers but they will be changed by mid-November plus we have all of our usual beers: Doom Bar, Guinness, Timothy Taylor Landlord etc.
Christmas Day Lunch for the restaurant is sold out but we do have 2 tables in the bar area that are still available from 2pm. Christmas Lunch is priced at £68 per adult and £45 per child under 12 years old.
The date has been confirmed for our Carols at The Horseshoes. This will be Wednesday 21st December at 6.30pm. We will be serving complimentary mince pies and mulled wine.

We have entertainment booked for New Year’s Eve by the group Amber who are back by popular demand.
